Dr. Nascimbeni Ferran is a board certified gastroenterologist. She is from Rome, Italy and since childhood she had a passion for medicine and helping others. She graduated with Honors in 1989 from the Medical School, La Sapenza in Rome, moved to the United States and graduated from her residency in internal medicine in 1994. she completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at St. Vincent's Medical Center and continued with a fellowship in liver disease at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1998.
Dr. Ferran has dedicated herself to personalized, compassionate care in private practice since 1998. She has also practiced as a gastroenterologist at the NYU Student Health Center for many years deriving great satisfaction from helping people of all ages. She believes that high quality care comes from knowledge, empathy and the capacity to listen and interact with her patients and their families.
Dr. Ferran has strong interest and extensive experience in prevention and early detection of colon, gastric and esophageal cancer, IBS, and bloating. Her practice also includes care for IBD, gastroesophageal reflux, celiac disease, and fatty liver. She dedicates time, attention and effort to understanding the etiology of symptoms that may have affected patients for many years without an answer or a solution such as in cases of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She performs colonoscopies, gastroesophageal endoscopy, small bowel capsule and breath test.
She is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.
