Dr. Janec is a board certified gastroenterologist who completed an Advanced Gastroenterology Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine Barnes Hospital. Her areas of expertise include endoscopic ultrasound and fine needle aspiration (EUS/FNA), therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograpy (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), enteral stenting, as well as general endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr. Janec is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at New York University School of Medicine and a member of the New York University Clinical Cancer Center, and sees patients at NYU Trinity Center, in addition to the Joan H. Tisch Center for Women's Health. She has previously held academic appointments at Washington University School of Medicine and Dartmouth Medical College. Dr. Janec received a Bachelor of Arts from The Johns Hopkins University and a pre-medical certificate from Columbia University in New York City. She received her MD degree from Ross University School of Medicine. In addition to general gastroenterology diseases particular areas of specialization include prevention, diagnosis, staging, and palliative treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, including colon, esophagus, gastric, pancreas, and bile duct. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
