Jane Chung, MD

Dr. Chung is Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine. She’s a native Californian who completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College.  She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Children’s Hospital.  She went on to complete her fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. 
Dr. Chung is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Chung’s interest includes the female athlete triad, dance injuries, concussion in athletes, and injury prevention.  She enjoys working closely with athletes of all ages and has experience serving as team physician in numerous high schools and colleges.  She is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Female Athlete Triad Coalition, and the Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness.  She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well.
In addition to seeing patients at NYU Langone’s Joan H. Tisch Center for Women's Health, Dr. Chung also sees patients at The Center for Musculoskeletal Care, Hospital for Joint Disease, and Ambulatory Care Center. Dr. Chung sees patients of all ages.
Dr Chung can see patients for the following musculoskeletal injuries along with common non-musculoskeletal sports medicine problems:

- Acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries

- Neck, shoulder, back, hips, knees, elbows, wrists/hand, foot/ankle

- Evaluation and management of athletes with chronic or acute illness ( infectious mononucleosis, exercise-related asthma, or diabetes)

- Evaluation & management of female athletes and related issues

- Menstrual irregularity, disordered eating, bone density

- Head injury/ concussion evaluation and management in sports/exercise

- Exercise prescription for patients who want to increase fitness

- Ligament Sprains, muscle strains, and contusion- Overuse injuries- stress fractures and tendonitis

- Nutrition, hydration, and heat illness in sports

- Assessment of risk injury and injury prevention

- Performance issues and fatigue related to athletes

- Pre-participation physicals/evaluations

- Joint dislocations, fractures

- Treat osteoarthritis


Kimberly Sackheim, MD

Dr. Kimberly Sackheim is a highly experienced pain management practitioner.  She is an expert in interventional procedures, treating patients with both acute and chronic conditions.  She specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders affecting the nervous system, muscles, peripheral nerves, and spine.

Dr. Sackheim’s approach involves an individual multi-modality plan to improve her patient’s function and quality of life.  As deemed medically necessary, such plan may include fluoroscopically and ultrasound guided injections, botox injections, prolotherapy, opioid and adjuvant medications, physical therapy, and electrical stimulation.

Dr. Sackheim completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and her Anesthesia-based fellowship in Intervention Pain Management at Beth Israel Medical Center.  She is board certified in both Rehabilitation Medicine and Interventional Pain Management.

Dr. Sackheim has been honored with several awards and recognitions, including the Patient’s Choice Award, and was recently selected as a Super Doctor: New York Rising Stars.  She has published numerous articles and publications, and is the editor of Rehab Clinical Pocket Guide and Pain Management & Palliative Care: A Complex Clinical Guide.
